Fribourg/Freiburg is a bilingual city at the border of French speaking and German speaking Switzerland. Located at this so called „Rösti-Graben“, there is no better city to give you an insight into Swiss diversity. Its location is additionally a good starting point to visit different places all over Switzerland.

The beautiful city is famous for its medieval old town situated at the Sarine River. But this does not make it an obsolete city: From the 40‘000 inhabitants, around 10‘000 are students from different countries. This mixture gives Fribourg its special charm. As an Erasmus student you will find affordable accommodations and activities and of course lots of interesting people. Perhaps you had never heard of Fribourg before, but once you are here you will never want to leave!
